“Girl Bar is a place where our patrons can come and feel safe, feel comfortable – and most of all – feel empowered,” adds co-founder Dr. “We wanted to do something to help make the lesbian community more visible and create a place for women to come together,” said Girl Bar co-founder, Sandy Sachs. Today, their vision continues to grow and set a standard for excellence in the lesbian and gay community. The concept was simple: to provide the most exciting events, in the most elegant of settings with the hottest women in town.
In response to that demand, they launched a weekly event unlike anything else that had been done before. After moving to LA from New York in the late 80’s, Sachs and Gans recognized the need for an upscale nightclub catering to the lesbian community.
Founded by Robin Gans and Sandy Sachs in November 1990, GIRL BAR is the largest dance and entertainment group for lesbians in the United States.
